It's Farm Safety Week

We’re encouraging all YFCs to add the Farm Safety Curve module to their club programmes in 2023-2024.

The Farm Safety Curve module was developed with The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) to help prevent farm accidents. YFC members will gain an awareness of farm safety and be challenged to change behaviours. The course helps people to work towards implementing safer practices on the farm.

The Farm Safety module will ensure learners will:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of farm safety
• Understand the first aid and first response implications of farming accidents
• Demonstrate how to assess a farming task, identify potential risks and implement preventative measures
• Understand the consequences of having a serious farming accident.
   

Minding Your Head 
NFYFC has also developed a second farm safety module with The Farm Safety Foundation.

The Minding Your Head module focuses more on raising awareness of mental health issues in farming and how to have a conversation with someone you are concerned about. The two interactive sessions can be delivered to members during club meetings by a YFC Trainer.
