Are You Ready for NFYFC's Competition Weekend?

NFYFC will be hosting the Competitions Weekend in Staffordshire on the 8th and 9th July 2023.

Teams and individuals will compete nationally for a range of trophies and more than 300 members are expected to be taking part on the day at the Staffordshire County Showground and at Oakedge Shooting Ground.

YFC members travel from across England and Wales with family and friends to compete at the national event, which culminates in a special awards ceremony.

Rosie Bennett, NFYFC Chair of Council, said:

“Competitions Day is a chance to showcase the best talent from our counties and Areas when they compete at a national level. A huge thank you to all our competition sponsors for supporting this event.

“I have been out and about at rallies and shows and have seen the high standard of competition entries from YFC members. I’m really excited to see the standard at the national final and wish all teams and individuals the very best of luck!”

Competitions Day includes:

·        Brainstrust

·        Clay Pigeon Shooting

·        Fence Erecting

·        Call My Bluff

·        Member of the Year (17 & under)

·        Public Speaking

·        Reading

·        Situations Vacant

·        Farm Safety Skills

·        Recycled Metal Work

·        Fashion Make and Model

·        Street Dancing

·        Jump Rope

Competitors will also have the chance to win a range of goodies as well as the much-coveted trophies and certificates.

Clay Pigeon Shooting competitors will all receive BASC goody bags and the top three winners will win a luxury BASC goody bag. Oakedge Shooting Ground are also providing cash prizes for the winners and Game Fair tickets are also in the prize haul.

In the Farm Machinery Skills competition, which is sponsored by KRAMP, winners will receive a KRAMP toolbox as well as a VIP trip to the JCB headquarters. And goody bags are being given to competitors in the Fence Erecting (from supporters Estate Wire), In Situations Vacant and Brainstrust (from sponsors ADM Cares) and in the Metalwork competition (from sponsors IAE).

And all competitors, spectators and supporters can take part in NFYFC’s Competitions Day Raffle and purchase tickets to win a range of special prizes, including a limited edition JCB tractor toy and a Karcher high pressure cleaner worth more than £300. Purchase raffle tickets here*.

Competitions Day is made possible thanks to the support of sponsors and supporters. The Brainstrust and Situations Vacant competitions are sponsored by ADM Cares, BASC supports the Clay Pigeon Shooting, IAE is sponsoring the Metalwork competition, Estate Wire and Wragg are supporting the Fence Erecting and Kramp are sponsoring the Farm Machinery Skills competition, and also the competition is supported by CFMOTO, JCB and Rea Valley Tractors.

The winner of the Junior Member of the Year competition will also be revealed during the day, and this competition is supported by Tama.

YFC members will take part in Sports Day on 9 July – which is also held in Staffordshire. The sports competitions include Basketball for 13–16-year-olds, Ladies Rounders for 17-28 year olds and Men’s Hockey for 17-28 year olds held at Denston College in Staffordshire.
