Eden Valley Answer Call For Help

Eden Valley Young Farmers happily answered the call for help from previous club member David Pigney, who drove to Poland to help the Ukrainians.

David and Jose Faustino, who are well-known businessmen of Appleby, made the drive to Poland in one of David’s companies vans (H Pigney & Son) to deliver essential aid to Poland for the Ukrainians.  David and Jose set off on Friday 4th November and were 1 of 3 vehicles taking the 5 day trip.

Many aid donations had already been made and the vans were full.  David and Jose were also looking for monetary donations to go towards warm clothing, knee pads, stoves and emergency blankets and Eden Valley Young Farmers were happy to make a generous donation of £200.00.  

The trip covered over 2,000 miles in 5 days passing through the Netherlands and Germany with the final destination being Krakow in Poland.  The aid was then  transferred in Krakow to a vehicle heading to Kiev in the Ukraine.  

In total £1,092 was raised and will go toward the cost of the aid.
