Much laughter accompanied the Young Farmers’ County Final of the Just a Minute Competition on Thursday 30th March at The George Hotel, Penrith.  Young farmers spoke for one minute on a variety of topics, including; packing a suitcase, Cumbria, Learning to drive, Brexit and elastic bands  without hesitation, repetition or deviation.

 

Judge Richard Hodgson, thoroughly enjoyed the evening and praised the competitors for their skill, humour and ingenuity. Caldbeck YFC’s A team of; Rosie Thompson, Beth Robson, Sarah Gate and Jack Lightfoot proved to be the most skilled at the competition and were placed first.  Drigg YFC were placed second, Caldbeck B were placed third and Lowick A fourth.

 

This is the last County Final competition of 2016/17 as the young farmers will now be concentrating on preparing and practising their skills for the forthcoming Northern District Field Day which will take place on Saturday 13th May at Langrigg House House Farm, Langrigg, Wigton, CA7 3LH by kind permission of the Lee family.
