Tug of War County Final

Twenty four teams of young farmers gathered at Country Fest at the Westmorland Show Ground, Milnthorpe for their Tug of War County Final Competition on Saturday 30th May.

Competition was fierce, with teams from both the Northern and Southern Districts pitting their strength against each other. Competitors were cheered on by the hundreds of spectators and supporters gathered to watch, creating a highly charged and a times extremely tense atmosphere.

The men’s competition was won by Sedbergh, with Kent Estuary placed second and Brampton giving their all to be placed third.

Sedbergh triumphed again, coming first in the Ladies competition. Grayrigg came a well deserved second and Kent Estuary placed third.

The mixed juniors competition was won by Broughton, with Grayrigg second and Lowick third.

The top three teams from all three categories now go forward to represent Cumbria Young Farmers at the Northern Area Field Day at Thirsk Auction Mart. on Saturday 27th June.
