Young Farmers the length and breadth of Cumbria have spent every waking moment over the last couple of months preparing for the 2 largest events in the annual Cumbria YFC calendar –  the Northern and Southern District Field Days.

The Field Days are a celebration of the very best of Cumbria Young Farmers, with members from every club competing in over 60 competitions. Creativity is tested in competitions such as; floral art,  recycled garden sculptures and live demonstrations of hobbies, whilst tractor handling, sheep shearing and stock judging give members the opportunity to pit their skills against each other in a competitive environment.

With log sawing, cookery, Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling and Tug of War, there is something for everyone to enjoy on the day. “Young Farmers Got Talent”, karaoke and the fancy dress obstacle race add fun and laughter to the proceedings. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the Field Days and whatever the weather a good time will be guaranteed!

The Northern District Field Day will be held on Saturday 16th May at Woodside Farm, Dean, Workington, CA14 4TQ, 10 am – 4 pm. Entry £3 per car.

The Southern District Field Day will be held on Saturday 23rd May at Docker Hall, Docker, Kendal, LA8 0DB, 10.30 am – 3 pm. Entry £4 for adults, £1 for children.
