“University education is over-priced and over-rated”; “ Vegetarians are more healthy than meat eaters”; “Should British farmers be compensated for loss of crops due to severe weather conditions”; these were some of the topics debated by the finalists of the Cumbrian Young Farmers Senior Brainstrust competition.

 Judges Mr Stephen Procter and Mr Nick Utting said they had enjoyed the lively and entertaining discussions . They presented the  Midland Bank Perpetual Trophy to the winners from Aspatria YFC: Edwin Holliday, James and Philip Mattinson and Michael Robinson. Crook YFC were place 2nd and  Longtown 3rd
