60 Young Farmers from around the County gathered at Penrith Auction Mart for the Stockman and Young Stockjudge of the Year competitions.

 They gave reasons and placed  4 dairy cows, butcher’s cattle, butcher’s lambs and breeding lambs and answered an animal health questionnaire set by Neil Swift of Frame, Swift and Partners’ veterinary practice.

 Cumbria YFC President, Mr Nick Utting presented the Ian Graham Rosebowl for Stockman of the Year to Laurie Brunskill of Brampton YFC with Keith Forster also of Brampton and Henry Knowles, Grayrigg equal second.

 The Bronwyn Chester Trophy for highest scoring Junior went to William Horsley, Skelton . second Rachel Edminson, Longtown and third Alice Longmire, Lowick.

 The H and H  team trophy was presented to Aspatria

 The top 8 Seniors and Juniors now go on to compete against YFC members from the 6 Northern Counties at Brockholes Arms Auction, Preston.
